Hidden Gate: English Box Lattice-Topped Privacy Fence

This awesome project located in Atlanta, GA was a first for us. Our client required an automated gate that virtually disappeared as if it were fence itself!! Swing gates wouldn't work due to its proximity to the road, so we decided a cantilever gate was in order. So... how do we make a wooden gate work properly when it is to be automated? We made a steel frame on the inside and affixed the wood to it to match his fence exactly!

The fence itself is a pressure treated pine privacy fence topped with English Box Lattice and set with bevel top posts, as you can see its absolutely gorgeous and the only way to know that part of it is a gate is by looking at the driveway stones!! We loved how this one came out!

Now our customer just hits his remote control when he's coming down the street and his gate opens just like the Batcave in Batman!
